How To Copy This DVD on Windows

Copying the DVD requires a DVD burner and DVD burning software on your computer. When this DVD was made back in 2007, two of the most popular DVD burning programs were Nero and Roxio. Included below are directions for using both of those programs. If you do not own either one of those programs and have different DVD burning software, please refer to your owners manual to help you make a copy of the DVD.

Note: These procedures will not work with copy protected DVD-video discs.

Nero 5 or 6

Nero Express

Once the DVD recorder or DVD Image Recorder has been selected, the option to burn DVD files will appear in your "Start" menu.

Step 1: From the project selection page, select DVD-Video files.

Step 2: From this next window, you are now ready to start adding existing DVD-Video files with extensions such as .VOB, .IFO, .BUP. To ensure a proper functioning of the DVD-Video disc, it is best to add all the files of the VIDEO_TS folder.

Step 3: When you are ready, click "Next" to proceed to the next window to start the burn process.

In the "Final Burn Settings" window, you will only have the option to change back and forth between your DVD burner (if you have one available to you) and the DVD Image Recorder and to label your disc under "Disc Name". All other options will be grayed out and not available to you.

Step 4: When ready, click "Burn"!

Copy And Burn Process

Using Nero DiscCopy you can either copy and burn discs directly to a blank disc or create an image file of a disc for burning later. The button is used for this:

In its default setting, Nero DiscCopy will create exactly one copy of the source disc. Depending on the disc drives connected, the copy/burn process will proceed as follows:

Two Disc Drives Connected To The Computer, At Least One Is A Recorder

The contents of the source disc in the source drive are burned directly "on-the-fly" to the destination disc in the recorder.

If two to 99 copies are required, the contents of the source disc are temporarily stored on the hard drive and from there automatically burned to the destination discs in succession.

Copying A Disc Using Only One Drive

The contents of the source disc are read and temporarily stored on the hard drive. The source disc is ejected and a prompt to insert the blank disc displayed. As soon as this is inserted, the first copy is burned.

Copying A Disc Without A Recorder Connected To The Computer

The contents of the source disc are read and stored as an image file on the hard drive in the folder defined in the Settings window (see Defining settings ).

Copying And Burning A Disc

To copy and burn a disc, proceed as follows:

  1. Adjust the settings to your requirements if necessary (see Defining settings ).

  2. Insert the source disc in the disc drive.

  3. If there is a further drive with recorder function connected to your computer, insert the destination disc in this destination drive.

  4. Click on the button.

The copy/burn process is started; a fly-out window keeps you informed of the progress.

  5. You have successfully copied and burned a disc.
Roxio

When you first start Disc Copier, it opens in the Simple mode as shown below. The main parts of the Disc Copier window in Simple mode are identified below.

Note: Disc Copier has two modes of operation, Simple and Advanced. Simple mode lets you quickly copy a disc. You choose your source and destination drives, insert your discs and copy. The Advanced mode has additional options for selecting and copying disc image files and DVD-Video folders. The Simple/Advanced button toggles between the two modes.

Copying A Disc Using Only One Drive

You can copy a disc even if you have only one drive, as long as that drive is also a recorder. You might want to do this for one of these reasons:

  • You only have one recorder connected to your computer
  • You want to minimize the possibility of a buffer underrun occurring
  • You selected "Always cache" from the Options dialog box

Note: You must have enough free space on your hard disk to temporarily store the entire contents of your source disc.

Step 1: With Disc Copier open, insert the disc that you want to copy into your source drive.

Step 2: In the Source list, select the drive containing the source disc. (This may be selected by default.)

Step 3: In the Destination list, select the same drive that is selected for the source drive.

Note: If you only have one drive, this drive displays by default.

Step 4: Click the Copy button.

The Recording Progress dialog box appears, displaying the progress as the contents of the source disc are temporarily saved to your hard disk.

When Disc Copier is finished copying the contents of the source disc to your hard disk, the Insert Media dialog box appears.

Step 5: Remove the source disc from the drive, and replace it with a blank disc.

Step 6: If the blank destination disc has a faster write speed than the source disc, you can select a faster speed from the Write Speed drop-down list.

Step 7: When you are ready, click Continue Recording.

The Recording Progress dialog box appears once again, displaying the progress as the contents of the source disc are copied from your hard disk to the blank destination disc.
